Welcome to 2017!
We have successfully closed out 2016 on a positive footing. Our National Leadership has secured us a new three year contract. It is through their hard work and dedication to the members that they ensured continued wage increases, health benefits, funding of the leave programs, improved benefits and wages for MHA workers and most importantly protection of the No Lay-Off Clause. Closer to home, during 2016, Local 303 through Steward training raised the quality of representation, negotiated approximately 400 MHA conversions (which gave room for hiring of additional MHA’s), delivered scholarship awards, reduced the number of backlogged grievances awaiting arbitration that were inherited from the previous administration from approximately 200 to less than 50 that were generated in 2016, prevailed in arbitration cases that garnered over $700K and gave back to the members through picnics, bowling events and the recent holiday events. Local 303 will use the achievements of 2016 as a basis to move forward to a better and prosperous 2017.
